Steve Edelson, murdered Sept 25,2010 in Puerto Viejo,Limon, Costa Rica

Steve Edelson was killed in the town of Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica, while reading a book on the beach. The crime was senseless and the killer is still at large. Steve will be missed dearly by many people. His friends and family are setting up a promissory fund to offer reward money to help find the killer. The people of Puerto Viejo have generously donated.
Yamu and Poppy have been taking charge of the effort to catch the killer and make Puerto Viejo safe once again. They run the Jungle Love Garden Café, where my dad ate sometimes while he was there. They have been interfacing local police for me and put up the reward posters- this website is meant to aide their effort more than anything else. If somebody turns in the killer and is eligible for the reward, we will notify each donor and ask them to send their promised money to a fund designated at that time, which will be given to the eligible person(s).

John Joseph Scibeck Fue encontrado fallecido Playa Potrero

John Joseph Scibeck died while staying at a little villa in Playa Potrero, where he planned on spending the winter months.
The retired car salesman told his son he should not expect to talk to him again until March. His son, Jonathan Scibeck, told the newspaper the last time he saw his dad was on Dec. 27, when he dropped him off at a hotel near Logan International Airport.
But on New Year's Day, Scibeck learned that his father was dead. A neighbor and friend discovered his body, face up on the side of a desolate road, less than a mile from the beaches of Playa Potrero, a small resort town on the western side of the country. He had been asphyxiated, but it was not clear how.
Costa Rica police said they are investigating the death as a homicide.

El vendedor de autos reitirado le dijo a su hijo que no esperarba hablar con el hasta el mes de MArzo, su hijo Jonathan Scibeck, le dijo al periódico que la ultima vez que vió a su padre fue el 27 de diciembre cuando lo dejó en al hotel cerca del Aeropuerto Internacional de Logan.
Pero en año nuevo Scibeck supo que su apdre esta fallecido. un vecino y amigo descubrió el cuerpo, boca arriba allado de una camino solitario a menos de una milla de la playa Potrero.
El fue asfixiado but no esta claro como.

Michael: a very "safe" person, not prone to taking risks. Had been to Thailand, family was from Jamaica and moved to England.

Visto por ultima vez en Villas Macondo, Tamarindo.
1´70 altura, peso: 65 kilos, edad 33 años, Periodista Inglés basado en Bruselas y de visita en Costa rica , viajando solo, las pertenencias en el hotel estaban intactas.
Pelo oscuro, un poco calvo,ojos cafe claro, bronceado, zapatos talla 36, habla inglés,francés y un poco de español.
Michael: es una persona muy cautelosa,generalmente no toma riesgos, ha estado en Tailandi, la familia estuvo en Jamaicay se fue a vivir a Inglaterra.
Cuando fue visto por ultima vez usaba shorts, una camiseta y un paño azul.

Looking for Michael George Dixon

He disappeared from his hotel room since last October 18 in Tamarindo beach, Costa Rica.
His relatives are desperate since he did not show up for work on October 26.
His belongings were intact, he left his room with his shorts, t shirt and a blue towel from the hotel and has not been heard of since.

Desapareció el pasado 18 de Octubre en playa Tamarindo, Costa Rica.
Sus familiares estan extremadamente preocupados ya que no se presento a su trabajo el pasado 26 de Octubre, salió de su hotel con solamente la pantaloneta, la camiseta y un paño azul del hotel y no se sabe su paradero desde entonces.

David Gimmelfarb missing since August 11,2009

According to a Costa Rican police report filed by his father, David Gimelfarb was staying at the Hotel Guachipelin in Guanacaste province. Roma Gimelfarb tried calling his son at the hotel on Aug. 12, but he couldn't reach him. The hotel told him his son left a day before for the national park (Rincon de la vieja Volcano)and had not returned.

De acuerdo con la denuncia a la policía de Costa Rica interpuesta por el apdre de David Gimmelfarb, su hijo se hospedó en el hotel Guachipelin en la provincia de Guanacaste. Roma Gimmelfarb trató de llamar a su hijo al hotel el doce de Agosto 2009, pero no pudo contactarlo El hotel le dijo que su hijo había salido el día antes hacia un parque nacional (Volcan Rincon de la Vieja) y no había vuelto.

From Costa Rica,Kathleen Harris missing in Australia since June 25, 2009

Ten years have passed since a teenage girl went missing on the South Coast, but police are still on the case, renewing calls for anyone to come forward with information.

Police have genuine fears for Kathleen Harris, 15, who was last seen at her home in Keppel St, Huskisson, about 9pm on May 31, 1999.

Her disappearance was out of character and all her personal belongings were found at her home by police.

Kathleen was born in Costa Rica but has made no contact with family or friends overseas or in Australia in the past 10 years.

When she disappeared, she was approximately 160-169cm tall, with a slim build and brown to blonde collar-length hair.

She was last seen wearing brown corduroy jeans and a white top.

Looking for Aly Zain Lakdawala missing in pacific coast of Costa Rica

TAMPA, Fla. — The University of South Florida says a 21-year-old student was reported missing in Costa Rica.
According to a USF news release, authorities in Costa Rica have been searching for Aly Lakdawala since Saturday when was last seen swimming in the Pacific Ocean.
Lakdawala is one of 14 USF students participating in a community service trip in rural Costa Rica.
USF Dean of International Affairs Maria Crummett was flying to Costa Rica to help in the search. Other university staff members are already on the trip.

La Universidad del sur de Florida dice que un estudiante de 21 años fue reportado coo desaparecido en Costa Rica.
De acuerdo con el reporte de la noticia de USF, las autoridades en Costa Rica han estado buscndo a Aly Lakdawala desde el sabado cuando fue visto por ultima vez nadando en el oceano pacifico.
Lakdawala es uno de los 14 estudiantes USF que participan en el viaje de servicio comunitario en las areas rurales de Costa Rica..
El Director de asuntos internacionales de USF, MAría Crummet voló a Costa Rica para ayudar en la busqueda. Otros personeros de la universidad ya estan en el viaje.
